The Lord certainly heard the prayers of His children, and I am pleased to report He has safely delivered me to my destination here in Central Asia. With many hours of travel, three separate flights, and excess luggage in tow, there were plenty of opportunities for things to have “gone wrong”, but God is so gracious and did not allow that. I do not want to digress too far, but I must share one quick “gift” I received on the latter half of this travelling journey. The third flight was delayed, for some time, after everyone had boarded the plane. During that time, I was too tired to do anything else apart from closing my eyes and resting. I have no idea how long we were sitting on the runway – opening my eyes required too much energy – but as the plane started its accent, I peered out the window, and my eyes were quickly drawn to a small fraction of a beautiful rainbow just peaking over the plane’s wing. I snapped a quick picture, as my heart instantly felt at ease, and the fear, which had begun welling up inside of me, instantly subsided.
I was able to obtain a one-month working visa here, and made it through customs shortly thereafter. As planned, my host Dad met me at customs and facilitated that whole process for me. The next step is for me to register in the country, and submit an application for a one-year visa extension. I am now at my host family’s home and will be staying here for a day or two, but then moving into the place I will be renting. It’s 6:30am here and I am calling it a night for a couple of hours. We have lunch plans in only a few short hours. So, I think I will end things here, for now, but I believe it is abundantly clear even in these few short sentences I have written, there have been many prayers answered. There is much more to come, but for now, I must call it a night.
Much love to you all. Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for me.
